Holiday in my home town

With the holidays behind us, it's time to start thinking of your 2010 vacation. Why not stay local? Sooke Ocean Resort is a fantastic place to stay and play. In 2008, I spent a week of my holidays right here in Sooke with my family.

Of course, it was only minutes away from my own home, but it was a place where we could all be together and keep our families close and enjoyed being with each other. Using the harbour kayaks, crabbing, relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying great views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca made it seem like I was away from it all. We visited local attractions ~ Sooke Pot Holes, Whiffin Spit, Fishing Charters, Sooke Harbour House and more! My family came from Vernon and Port McNeill. My nephew, Lukas was a new born and seeing him for the first time was such a treat ~ he's a little gift to all of us. This week brought my dad to visit which is something I'll treasure always. He wasn't one for travelling out of the North Island, but being all together brought him to Sooke. I will forever treasure my holiday in my home town, with the passing of my father this past November my Sooke vacation is and will be my most memorable.

So you don't have to go far, to enjoy your holidays....make memories locally, just like I did!
